Major Transit Station Areas
-
Under the Provincial Growth Plan Policy, the City of Toronto must delineate Major Transit Station Areas (MTSAs)
-
MTSAs are generally defined as the approximately 500- to 800-metre radius surrounding an existing or planned higher-order transit stop or station (or about a 10-minute walk to the station)
-
MTSAs are development intensification areas aimed at accommodating a substantial proportion of a municipality’s future residential and employment growth in a way that will encourage transit usage
-
MTSAs have an immense impact on planning and development in Eglinton—Lawrence as the University line, Yonge line, Eglinton LRT all run through the Ward.
